"Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone."

My name is Pamela Tung. I am a front end developer who is committed to creating a more beautiful and functional web.

I enjoy balancing the design aspects of my work along with coding efficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, so that all parts of a project shine through. My strengths include thinking critically about development workflow and project design. Prior to being a web developer, I earned a Masters of Architecture from the University of Toronto, and worked in the urban design industry. I continually find inspiration from my hobbies, which include cycling, reading, and painting.

Week 3: HackerYou Responsive

The major tasks for this project included writing HTML and CSS code from scratch based on a layout created in PSD format for a fairly detailed design, and making the site responsive. Media queries were used for several break points, to make the site useable at different screen sizes.

Tools Used: PSD to code, Responsive Layout

Client: HackerYou

Week 5: Photo Gallery

For this project, I created an image gallery using the Fancybox jQuery plugin, while working with classmate Keli Chiu in a paired-programming exercise. We used a narrative describing the imaginary adventures of a cat named Mitzi, which was the theme around which we selected photos for the gallery. We used jQuery methods to carry out the actions of the photo gallery, such as changing the contents of image containers, and also changing the accompanying text. An additional feature was included was a scrollbar in the thumbnails section.

Tools Used: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.

Week 6: API Project

I used the Wunderground Weather API and the TTC API to create an app that announces the current weather forecast, along with a list of TTC vehicles near a specific intersection in Toronto, specified by the user. I used AJAX to request data from the APIs, which could then be organized according to type of vehicle, and time of arrival. The background image also changes depending on the current weather conditions.
